Andy Warhol Billboard campaign and street exhibition
Channel Four Television
Fifty billboard locations around London had a different Warhol artwork forming a street exhibition and announcement of the documentary. A city exhibition guide was inserted in newspapers and as a double page advert in Time Out magazine.
This was the first time Channel Four Television had used the new ‘Golden Square’ billboard format. Each poster is digitaly output on to large tarpaulin sheets, which are strung up around steel frames. Unlike the old method of screen printing, this new digital print production allowed for each billboard to have a different artwork with no extra production cost.
